...there were Christmas parties! I helped the kids in EJ's class decorate the gingerbread men that she and I baked last weekend. From experience (I did this with her 1st grade class too), I learned to a) control the icing squirting device myself and b) give each kid their own cup of candy decorations rather than allow them unrestricted portions. It was a lot of fun. After that, the kids did a gift swap, presented the teacher with a class gift, and went to the gym for a school-wide sing-along which really was a lot of fun.
Sophie had a party today too, and from what I hear, she practically jumped into Santa's lap when it was her turn. He gave her a gift, and she didn't want to leave him so the next kid could jump on!
And then tonight was the annual neighborhood ladies cookie swap, pokeno game with yankee swap, wine "tasting", and general fun. That's why this post is a bit late.
