Hollywood comes to....

...southwestern PA? Here is a link to a story about a businessman, Joe Hardy, from our hometown area in PA, and his recent birthday party. Mr. Hardy is the founder of 84 Lumber, a Fayette County commissioner, and the developer of Nemacolin Woodlands, a rather posh resort complete with polo fields, that seems very out of place in this little corner of Appalachia. When we visited the area last spring, we noticed that downtown Uniontown appeared to be really cleaned up and quite the trendy little shopping mecca, all thanks to investments from Mr. Hardy. Of course the locals all laugh because they don't know anyone who can afford to shop there. But if Mr. Hardy is going to bring in celebrities to celebrate his birthday, perhaps southwestern PA can become the new Aspen....NOT! But, I would like to see Robin Williams in Glisan's chatting it up with the local folks over a hot roast beef with gravy on the fries and some coconut cream pie!
